Voter registration takes only a few minutes, whether you're registering for the first time or relocating your voter registration to Covington County.

You can register to vote through the mail or online. The 1993 National Voter Registration Act made registration even simpler. The Motor Voter Act allows motorists to register to vote or update voter information when they renew or apply for an Alabama's driver's license.

County residents can update voter information or register to vote in the registrar's office in the county courthouse in Andalusia. Voter forms are also available at the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce, the Opp and Covington County Chamber of Commerce, at the Florala City Hall, and in the Probate Judge's office.

For more information call the registrar's office at (334) 428-2685

A person can be registered to vote by answering 15 simple questions and affirming they are answered correctly. People registering to vote must be able to provide their correct address.

Aside from a valid address, a person must be 18 years old, a resident of the county, a U.S. citizen, not barred from voting by reason of felony conviction , nor have been judged mentally incompetent in a court of law.

A voter must register at least 10 days prior to any election in order to vote in the immediate election. The person will be given a card certifying his or her eligibilty to vote, but it is not necessary to take the card to the polls.
