Voter registration
takes only a few minutes, whether you're registering for the
first time or relocating your voter registration to Covington
County.
You can register to vote through the mail or
online. The 1993 National Voter
Registration Act made registration even simpler. The Motor Voter
Act allows motorists to register to vote or update voter
information when they renew or apply for an Alabama's driver's
license.
County residents can update voter information or register to vote
in the registrar's office in the county courthouse in Andalusia.
Voter forms are also available at the Andalusia Area Chamber of
Commerce, the
Opp and
Covington County Chamber of Commerce,
at the Florala City Hall, and in the Probate Judge's office.

A
person can be registered to vote by answering 15 simple
questions and affirming they are answered correctly. People
registering to vote must be able to provide their correct
address.
Aside from a valid address, a person must be 18 years old, a
resident of the county, a U.S. citizen, not barred from voting
by reason of felony conviction , nor have been judged mentally
incompetent in a court of law.
A voter must register at least 10 days prior to any election in
order to vote in the immediate election. The person will be
given a card certifying his or her eligibilty to vote, but it is
not necessary to take the card to the polls. |
